i got a large shipment of photo paper from bhphoto.com, my favorite online store ...

in my spare time, i started making prints of pictures from last summer ... judy got me a really nice photo album and i'm going to fill it with pictures from last summer. i actually also busted out my box of slides that i didn't deem worthy to see if there was something in there that would work.

i'm also making some extra prints ... if you want a print from any of my pictures last year, let me know. i have plenty of paper (i ordered 100 4x6 paper and 30 8x11, all of the canon pro photo brand) so i can make some prints =). i would just make them for people, but it seems so ... narcissist to be like "oh i made you a print from a picture i took last summer."

yeah, that definitely doesn't sound very humble. ;)

Dude...scroll down. Walmart is 27 cents and Sam's is 20 cents. Just take your compact flash, sdcard, CD rom, whatever to them.

how is the quality of scanned slides that you print?
Comment posted on July 18th, 2003 at 11:04 AM
very high quality. i have a canoscan fs4000 ... i rarely scan at the 4000dpi since my computer can barely handle it (and usb isn't so nice when you're trying to send that much data). usually i scan around 1000-2000 dpi then print. the prints are flawless at 4x6 ... but i usually have to rescan at 4000dpi if i want to get a nice 8x11 print.

Man, I like injet printers, but I've totally abandoned them. The good printers are hella spensive, the paper is hella spensive, and the ink is definitely hella spensive. I just bring my compact flash or CD to Walmart/Sams and have them print it there. It's only 20-25 cents for a 4x6 and a little less than $1 for an 8x10. And the photo is burned on rather than inkjet on matte Fuji Crystal archive so not worries about smudging.

I mean, I like my printer, but I just hate paying exhorbitant amounts of $$ for ink because I'm not just printing photos. But I feel better if the image is burned into the paper rather than sitting on top of it. I don't know, it's just me.
