I read the funniest thing today:

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) has a simple solution to future shooting massacres such as the one that ripped apart Virginia Tech university Monday: more guns.

"People are a little more cautious if somebody might have a gun there," the GOP presidential candidate told Politico reporters Tuesday. "A concealed gun carried by a responsible person -- that might have ended the problem that they had at Virginia Tech with one person being killed or two people being killed."

Hmm, let's think for a moment. Let's say somebody is on the loose with a gun, killing people. Let's say I'm sitting in class with a concealed weapon. Suddenly, somebody comes through the door with a weapon.

Is it the assailant? Is it somebody else with a concealed weapon who's trying to warn my room? Do I shoot this guy? Do I not shoot this guy?

This is the most retarded thing I've read all day, and I spent most of today reading my own code (which is probably the most retarded stuff EVER).

We had a similar situation up here in Spokane several years ago. A mental case came in to the dispensary and started shooting people who were waiting to see their doctors. It was brought out then that if someone had a weapon they could have shot the guy easily because he had his back to many of them. It is a valid point, but your point is well taken. You have to make sure you are shooting the shooter. I would assume once you have seen him/her shoot at one of your friends you could assume he/she is the shooter. You are probably next, so you should shoot that person. I carry a gun sometimes. I have a permit for it. I carry it when I am downtown or in high crime areas.

Just because he's from Texas, I'll defend him.

What are you, CANADIAN!?

When was the last time you heard of some dude shooting up a police station or an armory? :P

I like that Ron Paul character. His idea of arming the pilots does make sense, though not so much arming the school.

i read this too. it's ridiculous. even if we go with this 'simple solution', how the heck do you measure and define "responsible." and people can be responsible at times and not at others. it's scary to think that someone speaking such ridiculous logic is allowed to own firearms. and it's even more scary to think that he is actually a presidential candidate.
