Someone kill me please
I've been at a Internet cafe for the past few hours, uploading and troubleshooting the new Tabulas front page (check out what I've done so far) ... and one person at this cafe has the nerve to play Billy Joel on the computer speakers.
But it's not just the fact that he or she is playing "Uptown Girl" on the speakers loudly. Apparently he or she REALLY loves this song. I mean, REALLY. It's been on repeat for the past 26 minutes.
Someone kill me.
As you can now see, it's not a huge upgrade, but the HTML is now much cleaner and the whole thing is driven by CSS instead of tables.
The page is standards-compliant (XHTML 1.0/CSS), which gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Not really.
Currently logging in/logging out, registering, and all the "account retrieval" information stuff works.
The 'news' doesn't work, nor does the 'about' or 'features' links. The bottom navbar also needs to be updated ...
I haven't yet set the 'recently updated' to a cron yet, so that won't update.
But the important thing to note is how much JS I'm incorporating into the site; try the registration page... it's a lot cleaner and now there are "helpful hints" whenever you switch from field to field. Hopefully that type of help will be incorporated into the 2.0 control panel (which is due for yet another revamping now that I'm getting obsessed with JS).
There are a few minor things to tweak ... and some sections to add ... but all-in-all, I'm pretty happy with the way this thing has turned out.
Now to go back to my apartment and do all the tweaking ... maybe if I have the energy I'll come back here and upload all the changes. If not, wait until tomorrow! 8)
