I get on the plane:

"This is the captain speaking ... for those interested in the Georgetown/Carolina game, they just went into overtime, tied at 81. We'll let you know when we find out more."

They went an hour without letting me know what happened. The bastards! I finally asked a flight attendent ...

"This is the captain. Unfortunately..."

I didn't even need to hear the rest.

I haven't watched a minute of it, but I'm half-way tempted to buy the game on iTunes just to see how badly we blew it (by all accounts, it seems like it was a meltdown for the ages).

I'll probably go catatonic, so I won't.

don't forget the lack of timeouts...

Just some numbers/facts:

With 8 minutes left to go in the game, the rebounding numbers were UNC 33, G'town 17.

With 7 minutes left to go in the game, the FT numbers were UNC: 25-28, G'town 2-5.

Brandan Wright, a 54.4% FT shooter on the season, was 6-6 from the line.

Georgetown, which was 1-5 in its 6 previous games with Curtis Shaw reffing, was called for a technical foul in the 1st half, exercising an almost unknown rule that allows a technical to be called on the head coach if someone other than the head coach on the bench stands up and obstructs the fans' view.

Collapse or not, the previous comments are indisputable.

Actually, I was kind of inferring it was more of us actually playing a great game to be able to overcome all that.

gotcha. you were implying, i was inferring ;)

in any case, i might buy this game. terrence (did you meet him?) tells me it was an awesome college hoops game ... so i guess it'll be worth it.

And yes, I did meet Terrance. Nice kid, and a great fan (unlike basically all of your other alums). He was the only one other than Bert and the drunk guy down the aisle from us consistently cheering.

No need to buy. Either use CBS March Madness On Demand or go to this website.

Both are free.

it was terrible... we missed like 30 shots in a row. everything kept bouncing. even in the last few minutes, hansbrough missed his 2 free throws after having shot 100% from the line the rest of the game (like 14/14 or something). *sigh*
