Today was one of those "pass-out-on-the-bed-after-work-listening-to-radiohead-cause-you're-just-so-tired" type of days.

In any case, as soon as I hit the sack, the doorbell rang. I went down, and it was one of those kids selling magazine subscriptions for school. I remember when I had to do that; looking back it's so evil to force little kids to be your door-to-door salesmen for such things. Anyways, I was thinking how it's been so long since people can self-publish, yet there really isn't a dominance of e-mags yet (by e-mags, I mean something like alistapart). It's amazing that discoverability is still so shitty this day in age - my reading list has stagnated (I add maybe one feed every two weeks or so). It'd be really cool if there was an e-mag that just highlighted really well-written posts about life (general things, nothing too topical) every month or so from different authors across the web. There have got to be high school students, college students, medical students, law students out there who all have really interesting things to say about their life experiences, and I'm sure they're writing away ... I'd sure like to read those posts. I'd actually look to sites like Xanga and LiveJournal for posts like that - there are a few very well written Xanga and Livejournals out there that just don't get the credit that domain-hosted bloggers seem to get.

Some of the most interesting blogs I've read (example) are the personal ones about a life completely different than mine.

One of the things that the Internet has uncovered is the fact that there are millions of talented writers out there in the world. They've always been there, but only a select few were able to be published. But, sadly, the sheer numbers tends to make it difficult to become known. Sort of a catch 22 situation.

I know the "pass out on the couch to radiohead feeling!" I did the same tonight but JUST as I was about to fall asleep I got a call from one of our coworkers. Needless to say, I'm starting to question whether or not I should have Skype forward to my mobile!

Speaking of Radiohead, have you given that new Thom Yorke disc a spin yet. If you liked Kid A and Amnesiac, you will _love_ it! such good stuff!
