read the book, liked the pace at which he wrote it. It's a page turner, but yea.. plot is predictable.

Movie was.. dunno how to say this.... a bastardization of the book.

movie was ok. the movie by itself would have been interesting, but they changed the plot, the story, etc, purposely to remove the church from blame. (the shadow council didn't exist in print version).

as for the book. it was a fun read, that's all. I enjoy a book that makes me not want to put it down. Ender's game is still the best book in those regards, sure I could nitpick it. but reading fiction is more less for that person's enjoyment. If you enjoy a book, what else matters?

what?! man, sorry you were let down. I thought the movie was in line with the book... I stopped reading after 80% (which I guess was the most important part)... anyway, i liked it, at least the first 80% of the movie... hahah :D

I am interested in reading the book, and had planned on buying a used paperback before I left. Well, it was at the bottom of my list and now I am missing out "Da Vincijeva Kod" mania in Belgrade.


NB: I wanted a used paperback to avoid filling Dan Brown's bank account with my skrilla.

I have read the book, but not seen the movie. I can tell you that the plot was pretty predictable in the book. Not sure what all the fuss is about. This theory has been around for a long time. Like most religious mysteries, we will never know for sure.

Yeap.. the da vinci code in the movie was far less exciting than the book. When i read the book, i kept wanting to flip pages after pages, but when i watched the movie, i kept controlling my yawn after yawn.

Even the characters selected,
Silas - doesn't look as scary/ghostly and evil as it supposed to be
The lead actress - suppose to look extremely smart and independent but she looks demure and sweet
Robert Langdon - suppose to project a full American character. Tom Hanks doesn't give that kind of feeling. Someone commented that perhaps George Clooney will be better.
The cripple "teacher" - not as witty and self-centered as it supposed to be. In fact he has a gentle gaze

Those are just some examples. There were no up and down (excitement) in the movie like you get from the book. Partly due to there wasn't any fearful or scary feeling from the characters. It was monotanus.

Certain parts may not be the same as the book, but they already tried their best. Which is not too bad.
