I saw this in Bert's profile, but apparently you can buy English titles. Apparently you can buy some land and name it what you want so you officially become "Lord Blah of Blah blah." It costs $1600, but come ON! You can't put a price on becoming "Lord Roy Kim of Tabulæ-o'er-the-hill-of-Chapel-in-Carolina-of-the-North."

Supposedly you can change your license and legal information in the States once you become an English "Lord." Perhaps the thrill of becoming "Lady" may help me attract a girlfriend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Help me think of better names.

At first I thought, "That's a better fit for Terrence," but then I realized, "Terrence is never a shortstack. He's too damn good."

Good job, sir. GOOD JOB. Even in your compliments you manage to insult me.

You'd want to watch out for the 'thirteenth' amendment... ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titles_of_Nobility_amendment ).

If they implemented that, George Bush and Bill Gates would no longer be US citizens.

I guess Lord Vader is taken? ;)
I think I'd worth a few bucks to increase your "babelicous" quotient! Of course you'd have to wonder if it was *you* or your snazzy title they where after... :P

Either way, it ends up with Roy + girlfriend, and I cannot complain! ;)

I'm surprised that all the Tabulas chicitas aren't:
1) trying to hook up the The Great Roy
2) trying to fix you up with someone

We should start a "Pimping Roy" Group! :P

But seriously, you deserve a great gal Roy. I have to believe that she will come along one day. :)

You really like the title of my entries, don't you? I should just write titles and forget the actual entries ;)

Actually, I don't think you can accept a title of nobility in the United States. For example, Mayor Rudy Giuliani was made a Knight of the British Empire. Had he been a Commonwealth, he would have been "Sir Rudolph Giuliani, KBE." However, because he's a US citizen, he cannot use the title and at most, can use Rudy Giuliani, KBE.

Yeah, I remember reading that. I'll have to ask these fellas how to get around that. Perhaps these aren't really "formal" titles like the Knights. Or maybe you just can't be Sir Roy, KBE, but you can be Sir Roy.

*poke* comments are disabled on ~tabulas and forums are permanently down.

SO, any way of editing our RSS feeds to accurately reflect the title of our blog, instead of the generic " tabulas journal"?
