Staunch supporter of what? Bush? Or Kyoto? I've been skeptical about Kyoto before, but I don't think global warming (whether or not greenhouse gases contribute) is a risk we can afford to take.
If you're talking about Bush, I was never a staunch supporter of Bush - I supported his foreign policy issues, but I've never been impressed with his domestic policies.
