Is it inherently negative to write a post in the future, knowing you will be dead when anybody even reads the entry? I kept posting this entry to the future with the idea that I'm already dead ... but it felt kind of weird, so I deleted it. Maybe it's cause i'm tired. I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Nah, not really. There are a lot of people who do that with their wills and such, using them as a sounding board to make their last comments.

How can you "write a post in the future", when you are only in the present? Writing something that will be read when you are dead suggests that you are either planning your death, or know it is emminent. Your post would then be a kind of letter from beyond, except that you wrote it in the past even though you had no real concept of what that particular future would be. Kind of like writing your own obituary, or a letter to the 'You' you once were. Okay, now I'm rambling.... please explain your concept so my little pea brain will better understand. :blank:

Well, not so much "future" post per se, but it was a post I wrote that I set a publish date in the far-off future when I would certainly be dead.

Interesting. When you say "far off future" would you have been gone for a long while before the post was read, or would it be shortly after your passing? If so, that would be akin to a suicide note. If it was to be read months/years after your passing that would be an interesting concept. It would also depend on who it was addressed to. Almost like a message in a bottle, only via the internet.

well obviously it would be quite difficult to know exactly when I will die, so to be safe set i had it publish in 2050
