Ahh! Writing down a dream for myself...

This is the story of three best friends (two guys and a girl), growing up in the some metropolis right now (NYC will work). They grow up together, having adventures in together (as best friends do). The guys both end up working construction jobs... until one of them ends up with a vast amount of money that he discovers in a trunk while digging up dirt for the foundation of a new building.

However, this still doesn't change a thing. They all remain friends, although their living styles change quite a bit. Now the poor friend has always had a crush on the girl friend, and the now-rich friend never has expressed much interest in her.

However, the girl starts to fall in love with the rich guy, and the rich guy reciprocates. Although the poor guy begins to accept the decision, it starts to tear him up inside, because he suspects that the girl likes the guy for his money.

After some time the rich guy starts to sleep around with other women; at the same time, the poor friend becomes so anguished over the situation that he bloodies a random guy on the street. The girl, walking in on her rich "boyfriend," runs out in tears ... the rich boyfriend chases her all the way back to the street of his other friend's apartment, where she sees his poor friend still giving the smackdown on some random dude.

There's a dramatic scene when you see all three of the characters in the same street ... the girl becomes very disillusioned with guys and runs off. She becomes somewhat crazy, living her life travelling with some dolls that she's had... the other two friends make up, but things are never the same. They both end up working on some far-away construction job on another planet (this is in the future) to escape the memories of the past.
