There's something very odd about the child photographs done by Loretta Lux, but they are still very well-done.

I know this may sound horrible, but I would like to have my kids get a few pictures taken like this. It seems so ... surreal.

Extremely haunting photos. They seem more like paintings.

They remind me of Magritte's paintings.

I wouldn't want my kids to get pictures like that (it would probably creep them out later in life), but I would like to know how she was able to create photo/paintings like that.

The images seem odd to me as well, but I can't put a finger on exactly what it is. If I had to guess, it would probably just be their piercing gazes combined with the dim, surreal backgrounds akin to war photography.
