I'm currently masquerading as a student at a grossly overpriced school in Durham. And as a student who pays too much, I'm attempting to get my money's education by using these nice computers at Perkin Library.

Hopefully my friend Hao gets out of his exam soon so he can rescue me from this hellhole that is known as Duke University.

And just a little to the east, there's an even better deal at NCSU. At least we have a football team, too! :D

muaha... a little rivalry?

but seriously...

how is public school in the US? i went to a private university for a year and facilities were amazing.

now my public school in canada sucks in comparison. but then again, there is no funding for anything so its kind of expected.

is it a "you get what you pay for situation" in NC?

actually i may be biased, but UNC is a great great great school. our education pretty much matches that of Duke's, and we're much much cheaper. for in-state (e.g. me), i only pay about $12K/year in tuition and board and books... with scholarships it's almost free :D

i really think our universities are really good. even the public ones!

holy smokes $12k for instate? thats almost as much as it is for UC schools isn't it? (and those are probably the most expensive???)

i thought it would be more like in the range of $5-7k... cuz thats how much mine is!

$12k including books, tuition, fees, housing, and meals isn't bad at all. I was under the impression that the Cali system was $12k tuition alone.

You are so right about the dookies:

Twice the price; half the education.

Double the arrogance.
